DL 5S Q 2131 Sold

Today I was told that my bike has been sold. Came as a shocker. Did not know I was so fixated with something so material.

My Biking Blog @ dl52q2131.blogspot.com comes to an end.

My biking posts about Driving through Delhi (Jan 2004), 60 kmph (Nov 2005), Biking and Music (Apr 2007), Freak Accident (Aug 2006), My dream bike (Jan 2006) still remain. Post about 8101 here and here are still there. The only thing missing is my bike. I loved it more than anything else and I will sure miss it.

Anyways its gone. Time to stop thinking about past and worrying about the future.

Plan of Action aka POA is to start meeting new people and talking! More updates on this soon.

Biking and Music

Empty Roads of Chennai

I was listening to Dil Deewana from Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa. The song has been shot on SRK and Deepak Tijori. I am on the bike and I can almost see myself doing things that SRK does in the song. Pavlov … ?

By the way, Apple announced sale of their 100 millionth ipod on April 9.

Freak Accident

Think …

You are driving down a dark road on your bike. Enjoying the ride, feeling the wind in your (balding fast) hair, you are rushing down the road with absolutely no regards for anyone. Thinking about events in your life from recent past. Absolute bliss to be alive and on the bike and most importantly to be in control. Suddenly there is a loud noise up ahead the road. You see a couple of globes of light hanging in the air and your head becomes blank. All your thoughts vanish as if they were not there at all. After about a couple of minutes you realize it’s a car coming your way faster than you are going towards it. The road is narrow, there is no way to go, crash is inevitable and all of a sudden something happens and you swerve to your left and find some turf to drive on. You are saved. Saved from an almost crash. Safe from any dangers to your dear life. You take a deep breadth. And as everything, you move on. Move on towards your destination.

I wish …

I wish I had a HUGE bike, specifically an Enfield or the good old Harley. Ofcourse getting a Harley is kinda tough but I don’t think Enfield would be a problem once I start working.

On my way back from dinner I saw this guy on a bike, he was arrogant all right, the wa he talked to the ticketing assistant, I absolutely hated it but I liked his bike. He had this Enfield that was as big as a Maruti 800.

He had modified this bike with changed front fenders. The seat was lowered to the level of the speedometers. I can think of kAgE’s Bullect Electra. He had’nt done any modifications but his bike looks royal. May be the royal blue color on the bike makes it prefect or may be that he uses this wax daily on his bike… I can also think of WalkinEagle who has this sexy bike whose name I cant recollect right now but it is one of most expensive bikes around in India.

The best part about these bikes is the put-put-put sound they make when they are being driven around. People notice it from atleast a hundred miles. Its a very distinct sound and I don’t know about other people but I am full with envy.

60 kph – Romancing the Roads

If something has come close to defininf my love for travelling, the way I want to travel and things I want to really really do, its 60 KpH – The Motorcycle Travel Club.

60 KpH is about people who get together on their bikes and go for long journeys across the length and the breadth of the country. It combines the two of the best experiences one can have – Travelling and Biking. I always wanted to travel, see what all happens around the world, how people live, what makes them diferent from us and I wanted to travel extensively on bike, have long rides, feel the pulse on the bike and finally as one the old songs goes – cool wind in my head … !

Travelling, I recently started with it. My firt ever experience was at ChandraTaal when I went there this November. It was a 3 Day trek and as soon as I embarked on the journey, I knew I had found my destiny.

People might give arguments and tell me whats the glory in going to a remote place in mountains and coming back after spending a night, I have only one response – Go for once and then ask the questions again.

DL 1S M 8101

DL 1S M 8101 – The Yamaha RX 135. Sandyz Bike.

When my dear Kawasaki Bajaj Caliber Croma (with disk brakes) is not working, this is the bike that I roam around on.

I can recall four incidents when I was out with someone on this bike, and the petrol finished. I had to drag the bike to a good distance.

Twice I was with Aastha and guess what, next moment I was dragging the bike with her. Luckily I found the petrol pump in the next instant.

Next I went shopping with Surbhi and while coming back from Delhi (yes from Delhi) I had to drag the bike all the way from Delhi to Gurgaon over the border.

Next I was out to get a cake with Shubhi and as usual I was found dragging a bike to the Cake Castle. This time I had to call Jeetu and he came all the way from library to the Sector 14 market to rescue us from the place.

Bottom line… even though the bike is Yamaha, roads are ok, city is Gurgaon, I have great people to take along with me but somehow I don’t have a bike. And when I have it, its the same good old RX 135.

I think its a jinx. Whenever I am out with someone male… it somehow never happens and when its the ladies, it it bound to happen !

Bike, my life, when ever I am down, very happy, very sad, I just need to go out on a bike for a ride …
